{you get it?..... Mclovin! LOL} random i know but i needed a title.
Any way you are not forgotten. That schedule I posted a while ago is in full effect right now, and I'm grateful but I'm also busy.
Just finished production on the short film Sinners last weekend. That was intense, my 1st thriller. :D
I have also been working various promos for the feature film StepSisters. We will be on CNN Headline News at the end of this month will keep u posted, that's pretty exciting for me. Some of the stepsisters from the film will actually step at an event coming up this Saturday [maybe even me]. Can't wait to start shooting this, it will be in production before the end of July.
The feature film, Fate of Love will be starting production this weekend. We had a great table reading a couple of weeks ago and I'm geared up and ready to hear ACTION.
Aside from these productions I've been spending the rest of my hours creating and perfecting my own. The script I've been working on. Well it's time to push this baby forward. Super Excited about this. Major work but it has to be right so I will keep on keeping on. You will def. hear about this project. I'm thinking about starting another blog just for that project but have not decided yet. A lot of hard work ahead of me.
Mc♥n haha I crack myself up.

Just Wright
Leslie Wright is a straight-shooting physical therapist who gets the gig of a lifetime working with NBA All-Star Scott McKnight. All is going well until Leslie finds herself falling for Scott, forcing her to choose between the gig and the tug-of-war inside her heart. Oblivious to her romantic overtures, McKnight is instead drawn to the affections of Leslie's childhood friend Morgan, who has her sights set on being an NBA trophy wife. Is Leslie destined to play the role of "best friend" forever or will Scott finally see that what he always wanted is right in front of him?
Go See the film. I had to see it Thursday night [Midnight Showing] I just couldn't wait til Friday. Loved the movie. I'm a romantic dreamer....
Common, Queen Latifah, Paula Patton, Phylicia Rashad, Pam Grier, Dwight Howard, Mehcad Brooks and I loved how this film uses current NBA basketball players. And it's directed by Sanaa Hamri {{Selling Point}}.
Go to the theaters now like right now, it's a great movie to watch and relax.

If you want something, go get it
When I was young nearly everyone in my family tried to teach me how to ride a bike, no success, did what they told me to do but I kept falling. Until when I was 7 yrs old. my auntie put me on the bike and said "GO"... and I went, I knew how to ride a bike from there on.
Everyone also tried to teach me how to swim, my family, friends, instructors. Listening to everyone's directions, I just could not stay on top of the water. Thank God I never drowned, I've been very close to it. One day in Phys Ed. in the non-swimmers group, my coach said "go swim"... I tried to convince him I couldn't swim had no clue how but he made me go to the deep end and I swam.
My point is I can't live my life and learn the lessons I need to learn by listening to other people's directions, lessons and instructions. Your life isn't My life, so what works for you may not work for me. I just know if I want something I have to go get it. I don't know how I just know I have to GO.
and when I go no one can stop me.
p.s. It's finally here! yes yes lol I finished my website. [ the first one didn't work out as planned good thing I designed two... and I like this one much more :) ]

Nightmare of my dream
7:59 am
I have been asleep for thirty minutes and now I can't go back.
I was in an auditorium waiting to go on stage with a selected partner in front of other actors and directors and a panel of judges. I was so ready and excited and eager. When my name was called I realized I was chewing on gum. Before I went on stage I asked to spit out my gum, so I quickly went to the bathroom and spit out the gum. but it wouldn't come out it was stuck, I finally got it out and more appears so I'm trying to get all of this gum out of my mouth which is stuck in my teeth and it keeps coming. I finally get the last piece out and my tooth comes out with it. now my mouth is filling with blood and I've been worried about taking too long since I walked out of the auditorium. I save the tooth and a paper towel but decides to just throw it away with the rest of the soiled paper towels. This actress that is working on a film set is in the same bathroom as me, she likes me and wants to keep in contact put me with the right people. She was very endearing. The whole panel of directors walks in the bathroom right up to me and says that my "____" will not be tolerated. I tried to explain my tooth came out and showed them my new gap and the lady said your tooth has been out. so I said I can show you the tooth and runs to the garbage can. The panel leaves the bathroom. I started digging to find the bunch of soiled paper towels, which should be on the top but they were no longer there. I look for the actress so I can give her my number and I can not find her anywhere. Now somebody's portfolio falls right in front of me and I bend over to pick it up. When I stand up a guy is in front of me and tells me it's his portfolio and it was zipped up. he looked at me like I was a thief and tells me he could kill me. I didn't open your portfolio I only tried to pick it up because it fell. he tells me he could kill me because I set the perfect example of what not to do. when I tried to explain he told me this is a master acting class not a community theatre and walked away. I felt so low because I couldn't explain myself no one cared for my reasons, they didn't even believe a word I said. I started sinking into a fetal position wishing I could go home so my boyfriend could hold me and then I realized I didn't have a boyfriend anymore so I just held myself tighter and started to cry.
Today is a busy day for me but I must do it with that little 30 min energizer I got. If you know anything about psychoanalysis you know the blanks and missing parts are the key. There's something there that my unconscious is covering up. I mostly wrote this blog because I know exactly how I felt when I woke up from this dream and I can not explain that in words. That is a feeling I need to keep with me so when I read this again I will know.

Hello Again my friend
Update: My life has been extremely busy and hectic and crazy Beautiful. I had to make time for a new blog post, it's been long overdue. I have so much news to share with you... but you have to wait for it because it's a surprise!
Just to give you a little insight into what's been up with me, I have signed on for two new projects, one starts shooting next week and the other project starts choreography tomorrow! YIKES!! lol just kidding I'm ready for a good workout. I get to meet all of the cast and crew and will be in meetings and rehearsals all day.
Good News: My character for Complexity web series, Kelly, has been expanded. More lines, More scenes, More DRAMA! I start back shooting on that project next week also. Our lovely director has been working hard on the website, so when it's ready you have to check it out.
I've just been confirmed on a role in a feature that will begin shooting this summer. The director tells me it's highly dramatized so bring on the waterworks (tears). He must haven't seen me in Shafted. lol
And I had a good time last week on the movie set for Hall Pass starring Owen Wilson. Happy I was able to meet him, really a great guy.
This may be a lot of updates to intake but I have to fill you in, with my schedule who knows when I'll be able to give you the scoop. So.....
One day in the past two months while roaming through my hard drive, I discovered a screenplay that I started back in 2008. Read it like I never wrote it (of course I forgot everything) and laughed and loved it. In my free time I've been working on that screenplay, finishing writing the pilot episode and figuring out the ideal cast. Now I have to location scout, gather a crew, develop a press kit, book the cast and soooo much more..... AY YA YI (Is that how Ricky Ricardo say it?)
I've also been working on my press kit. Oh you didn't know? Yes that's right.
I am Niki Collier the Actress/Model/Writer/Director/Graphic Designer/Publicist. Now ya know, lol.
One more thing! we are soooooooo super close to the launching of NIKICOLLIER.com
*designed by me* :)

Perfectly Flawed
i love this picture
it's a photo of me and my friend lee.
what's so special about this picture is the scar you can see right below my mouth.
I've been in more than 11 car accidents in my life and the one that I got this scar from was the worst. This little scar you see once was an open wound which covered about 1/4th of my face. this is the only picture that you can see that scar, i can't even find it looking in the mirror. i am blessed. everyone in the car survived, every bone was mended, every wound was healed. ( i can go so deep into the story of this car accident but i'll spare you this time)

Highly Favored
One of my Favorite Movies (there are plenty) is Imitation of Life. I absolutely love this film. My mamii got me hooked on this movie when I was very young. She introduced me to this whole Classic Hollywood Era and I became infatuated. which could be the very reason for my career choice. It stars the lovely Lana Turner.

Financial Foreplay
Another short film under my belt headed for the festival. When it comes to these films I'm never too sure about all the information that I'm allowed to discuss so I play it safe. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Director and Cast between shots
This day was long and tiring but FUN and PRODUCTIVE!
You'll get all the updates later. Everything you need to know.
Back when I did Dirty Laundry
Ran across some pictures of me on the set of Dirty Laundry with Rockmond Dunbar, Jennifer Lewis, Terri J Vaughn, Loretta Devine directed by Maurice Jamal.
Funny thing about this movie is whenever a family member would see the movie they would call me excited. This is typically how the convo goes...

Family Member:
I seen YOU!! You did great.
Me:
Really? Awww thank you.
Family Member:
Yeah you said "Tupac Dead".
Me:
Ummm nah that wasn't me
Family Member:
You were in the wedding dress.
Me:
No. really, that's not me. I'm the Snow Kone girl.
My mom is the only person who won't accept it. She watches that movie probably like twice a week and she still thinks I'm the girl in the wedding dress. I just can not convince her that is not me. My dad told me I'm not in the movie. (he doesn't look for me in the movie, he looks for my name in the credits) But he bought well more than 5 copies of the movie. LOL. When my name tops the credits I can only wonder how many copies he's gonna buy.

Happy Valentine's Day
Sorry I'm Late but better late than never. I had a wonderful Valentine's Day today, (much improvement from last year). I remember growing up with the best Valentine's presents ever. I use to plan the perfect gift for my boyfriend for weeks and it never came out as planned but I always did something and it made me feel good to make my guy feel great. I was treated too, coming home from school with flowers and candy and stuffed animals and clothes and cards. Those were the days #HighSchoolDays.
My sophomore year in high school, me and my best friend both called it quits with our boyfriends near Valentine's (well mine was on again off again... just so happen we were off during Feb. 14th) but her mom sent both of us HUGE VDAY Packages to our homerooms from a secret admirer. It felt soooooo good, that day would have been ruined for me if it wasn't for that. TEENAGE LOVE! you know how it is or you did at one time.
Well today I went to church (the service was short, I was ready for a long blessing to get this issue straight by next year but everybody in the pulpit had their boo so I guess they were ready for their vday) I had Ice Cream and watched movies with my friend all day. I laughed all day and didn't feel lonely for a second. I guess if I got through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years alone, VDAY is a piece of cake. LOL.
Leave your most memorable Valentine's story or gift or what you did this VDAY. (I'm interested)
Happy VDAY and may you have many more!

She did a Season 2 YAY!!!
Actress / Singer
So happy I ran across this. I was just talking to one of my good friends about do everything in your power to be where you want to be. It's more than just wanting something and waiting for someone to hand it to you. You will be waiting a long time! I told her about Katerina Graham (I did an earlier post about her) and how I can see this girl's drive. I watch her vlog because it inspires me, it just goes to show you, you have to work and work hard and then work harder. (You're not the only one who wants this and someone is working harder than you. So are you just going to accept that?)
She has a season 2 to her vlog series and I can't wait to watch them.
okay off of my soap box for now :)
This Time Audition.
*Okay so I try to keep hush hush about auditions that I go on, just in case I don't get the part. Can't think like that anymore. Because I WILL get the part (but if I don't, it was not meant for me). I'm going to share this with you because someone shared it with me.
This Time (Short Film)
Directed by Matthew Cherry
Written and Starring Reagan Gomez
also stars Terri J Vaughn
*Based on the song "This Time" by John Legend.
One thing I learned from working as a casting assistant is research who you are auditioning for, what you are auditioning for, any information you have about the audition. All the information was given to us by the director. He set up a blog for the short film and it followed his work throughout pre-production. [ This Time Movie Blog ] I also learned to be yourself and Have Fun! (I'm still improving with unleashing my full personality) The Audition was UStreamed, exciting and new. :)
Here's the Script and my Script Analysis for the lines I was given to read. Which I learned from Matthew Cherry's blog. (well most of it there's a few more points on the back)
Also a link to the song. This Time- John Legend
If you get the role, Great! You were confident and prepared and your talent shined through. If you don't get the role, Great (well not so great) but still Good, because first impressions are lasting impressions and you just made an impression. You just wasn't right for it and they found someone who was. It's all about getting the best quality work. so SMILE it may be your role the next audition!
**Oh I forgot to tell you. On my way to the audition I was right behind this bus, and it got off on my exit and turned right, just like me.
it says "follow me to New Life". I noticed it and said hey that's smart and then I said wait a minute... God are you trying to tell me something? I am LOVING it and following.

A New Year is here... and I can tell the difference already
Some horoscope I read early January of last year told me, 2009 would be my foundation year. I thought I was ready for the world and the big screen last year but... I listened. I believed. Best thing I did last year. 2009 I embraced it wasn't my time to shine but it was my time to build a solid foundation.
2009
- First "REAL" Professional Headshot (by Kelsey Edwards)
- Acting Classes and Coaching (Kristen Shaw)
- Several Acting Workshops (Nick Conti & Blueprint 4 Hollywood)
- Purchased my website
- Started a blog about my experiences
- Purchased a schedule (small but major)
- Auditioned, Auditioned, Auditioned
- Kept in contact, Kept in contact, KEPT in CONTACT
- Extra work, Supporting role work, Lead role work
- Learned, Appreciated, Loved, Thanked God
Now 2010
Within this first week of the new year, I have seen a major improvement from the last week of last year. (If you CLICK the images you will be able to read clearly)
